Araru — Your library, your rules

Araru OSS ecosystemExplore the ecosystem on GitHub

Your collection. Your infrastructure. Your rules.

Section titled “Your collection. Your infrastructure. Your rules.”

Araru organizes and serves a digital collection without handing control of your files, reading history, or accounts to a commercial platform. Run the Server where you choose and connect official or third-party clients through its API.

Private by design

Your database, storage, credentials, and reading state remain on infrastructure you control.

One server, many clients

Araru Server is the source of truth. Web, Android, and Desktop clients consume the same API.

Built for real collections

PDF, EPUB, MOBI, CBZ, and CBR readers, hierarchical folders, metadata, covers, search, and progress.

Open source

Independent repositories, transparent architecture, AGPL licensing, and contribution-friendly documentation.

Araru Server owns authentication, catalog, metadata, search, progress, jobs, and content delivery. Araru Web is the current official client. Android and Desktop repositories are reserved for future clients and are not advertised as finished products.

Use Docker Compose to run PostgreSQL, Redis, Server, and Web, complete the first-time setup, and point Araru at your library. Read the quick start →

Araru is made in Brazil 🇧🇷 and developed in public. Explore the repositories, learn how to contribute, or review the architecture.
